10. This whole controversy casts a big, white, powdery cloud over the real issue that Daly was talking about: whether the Mayor should be cutting 2 million dollars from the City’s budget for drug rehabilitation services.
9. I’ve seen the CBS interview Daly was referring to and Gavin seemed to be answering pretty clearly. If Daly’s definition of Gavin “artfully dodging” the question of cocaine use includes flat out statements of denial, ("absolutely laughable" and "gratuitously erroneous") then by sitting in my office, I am artfully dodging the traffic outside. I’m crafty.
8. Does anyone in this town really want to open the door on drug use by public officials? I don’t. There are some things you can’t un-know.
7. The people who agree with Daly tend to be Ferris Bueller rumor mongers who say their best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw the Mayor do coke at 31 Flavors last night. Pffft. Whateva.
6. It was one phrase in a long speech. It was not even the main point of the speech. People are making a mountain out of a molehill. Of cocaine. Which in real life would be a lucrative trick.
5. Until the FBI raids Gavin’s office and finds 40k worth of blow, there are bigger issues of impropriety to deal with ‘round heuh.
4. The reference had no rational place in the speech. What’s next? Can’t cut subsidies on food if you have been rumored to eat? Can’t move to get rid of the Blue Angels if you’ve ever thought they were neato? Actually, I like that last one…
3. At least cocaine is a drug that is supposed to make one more productive. Allegations of him doing a drug that makes him count flowers on the wall and watch Captain Kangaroo might actually be more alarming.
2. Just watching the Supes and the Mayor fight over free WiFi and the budget is enough to make one want to reach for a forbidden substance. Any substance.
1. All this talk of Mayor Gavin doing coke is totally taking away from the media coverage of his hair. Let’s get back to what’s important, shall we?
11. And just when did Daly get all law enforcement on us? Coke, oh my god, it's illegal, and by golly, I'm Supervisor and gonna uphold our nation's drug laws! I'm sorry, Gavin, but as a sworn representative of the people, I'm going to have to turn you in. Pay no attention to those 19 pot clubs in my district, by the way.

I think it is time for all sides to sit down, have their cookie, a big tall glass of STFU, and some chill time, then put this all aside, and go back to work..

great stuff melissa. keep it coming. daly is quite the hypocrite himself for putting up 19 unlicensed pot clubs in our district.
greg,
there will be no real work at city hall as long as we have the constant distraction of chris daly. that is what he does best. when will the left understand this? he is not your ally if he cannot get anything done, anyone off the street, anyone a job, etc..
