Constant Readers,
I am on the East Coast (and have been since Saturday) and have not had time to write about propositions 91-97 on the February 5 ballot. However, since many of you have asked for my thoughts on the propositions, Ima do a quick list here for y'all.
Prop 91: Vote no. That's all you need to know.
Prop 92: Community College stuff. Excellent ideas and completely worthwhile goals. Irresponsible and sloppy execution that is ironic in light of educational purpose. C'mon guys, we need a Do Over.
Prop. 93: Term limits amendment. Doesn't really change much about term limits. Unless you are an incumbent about to be termed out. The Self-Serving Sketch Factor is too high on this one.
Props 94, 95, 96 and 97: Indian gaming props you've been seeing on t.v. every five minutes. The 8000 slot machines these guys have now will be increased to 17,000 and the tribes promise we'll get a bajilion dollars. Why not 20,000 slot machines? Hey, if we had 500,000 slot machines, we could wipe out our gazillion bajillion dollar deficit in a couple months. Is it ever too much? The Community College League of California should have gotten together with the four tribes to break off a piece of this sucker tax.
Happy Voting!!
