I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! I spent the day with friends at Delores Park with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence - where we had a picnic, drank wine and watched the "Hunky Jesus" contest. (Winner on the right.) I think it is WJWD.
1. Supes Giveth Ye Olde Fingre
At tomorrow's Board of Supervisors meeting, the Supes will vote on an official resolution "commending Susan Leal on her 15 years of dedicated service to the citizens of the City and County of San Francisco." I'm guessing one of the earlier drafts of the document said, "WHEREAS, Mistermayor is a douchebag who removed Susan Leal from the PUC for no damn good reason." The resolution is sponsored by all 11 Supes. I hope Susan gives a fabulous speech. And by "fabulous" I mean "rife with cursewords." I'll be watching...
2. Oklahomophobia
Also (as I reported last week) at tomorrow's meeting the Supes will be voting on a resolution put forth by Supervisors Ammaino and Dufty condemning the recent homophobic hate speech of Oklahoma State Representative Sally Kern. The resolution itself is appropriately bitchy, but my favorite part is where Ammiano derides Kern for the fact that her actions show "how very far removed from reality some elected officials in this country are."
So true! I'm just glad we don't have that problem here in San Francicso.
3. Isn't She Lovely?
Several of you have asked me to write about the Carole Migden campaign finance fiasco and her lawsuit to declare a campaign finance law (that she voted for) unconstitutional because it is now limiting her ability to be sketchy. Well, Brian Devine over at Calitics has written this piece that I couldn't possibly top. It is not short, but it explains everything. You should read it.

You're neglecting to mention the half-million dollar payout to Ms. Leal that our belt-tightening mayor has cost the city with his latest idiocy. And it's "Dolores Park," not "Delores," though I do like the latter. Sounds like the Southern version.
The camera loves you, by the way, as evidenced by your recent stardom on the TV news, but that interviewing newsman was an utter idiot. No wonder we need "Muni blogs." (I thought he was lumping you in with Greg Dewar and his N Judah Chronicles.)
