Last night I was the guest speaker at the City Democratic Club, thanks to my friend Mike Ege. I don't remember what I was supposed to speak about, but we ended up just laughing and talking shop about the new Board of Supervisors. David Latterman was there, too! The conversations went well into the night once we moved from the SPUR offices to the Irish Bank. Many thanks to Heidi and Erik and the wonderful folks I had the pleasure of meeting.

Once at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon where Mistermayor was giving a speech, an entire table of us got housed by playing a very simple game: drink whenever Newsom says the word "green." Borderline suicide, it was. And so, in this environment-obsessed city, I thought y'all would appreciate this funny and disturbing video starring John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell.

And finally, last week I warned people via facebook that I was having a crappy day and was feeling about as social as a piranha. One of my best friends saw my "status" - I believe the term was "NTBFW". (And yes, he actually added it to the Urban Dictionary for me.) Despite my warning, he sent me a simple email containing several links to YouTube-d songs from the show Flight of the Conchords. Here's what finally made me smile...
