"Misery Loves Passengers” and “Every Rider Left Behind” were two Muni slogan suggestions offered by a member of the public at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.
And speaking of great slogans:
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s recent re-election slogan, “Bringing people together, getting things done,” just became funnier in light of the recent news that he is once again dating an L.A. reporter who covers local politics. (The new one is Lu Parker, the one in 2007 was Mirthala Salinas.) As his slogan suggests, this man is all about relationships and efficiency. Parker recently reported on the rumors that Villaraigosa will sit out of the governor’s race. What? No pillow talk?
And speaking of the governor’s race...
On Saturday night, I did what most normal folks do: I combed through California candidate campaign contribution statements. Imagine my unbridled glee at seeing that someone named “Frank W. Chu” has given $199 to Mistermayor’s gubernatorial campaign! Is it our beloved 12 Galaxies Frank W. Chu? The zip code matches the one on Chu’s resume (yes, he has one - here: Download FWC_Resume), and his occupation is listed as “advertising.” It looks like Mayor Gavin Newsom is well on his way to getting the endorsement of all 8 billion galaxies.
And speaking of campaigns...
At 10 a.m. Saturday at the Columbia Park Boys and Girls Club, City Attorney Dennis Herrera will kick off his campaign for which of the following:
b. Mayor of San Francisco
c. President of the Mesmerizing Blue Eyes Society
d. All of the above
The event is also a drive for supplies to support the club’s summer programs. The lesson for boys and girls in attendance: “Why you need to make sure you can still keep your old job before you tell everyone you’re really looking for a new job.”
And speaking of children...
Supervisor Sean Elsbernd and his wife, Jennifer, are expecting a baby boy to arrive next week. I’m told first children are often late, but if their son is anything like his dad, he’ll arrive right on time with a tiny briefcase in one hand. He’ll use the other hand to cut his own cord, then send a text message to hospital administration asking for a budget analyst report on the costs of his own delivery.
Frank Chu is just trying to create a market for "Impeach Newsom" signs.
