Constant Readers,
I know this is the second post in a row that involves a video, but kids today are doing amazing stuff with those newfangled contraptions that capture pictures and sound. Case in point is this video made by Hahn for Lieutenant Governor campaign, where her people took footage of Newsom making fun of the office of Number Two and are using it to show that Mistermayor doesn't know what the Lieutenant Governor does. Ruh-roh!
In the video, Hahn never answers this question herself - leaving us with only the message that she should be elected Lt. Gov. because she has a vagina.

I'm excited they used an SFist quote!

Janice is cool...she was an OK LA City Councilmember, but her brother was kind of a lame Mayor of LA. And both ran on the dad's name down there anyway.
BTW, did you hear that Bravo TV built a clone for Newsom so he can run for LG AND be mayor at the same time?: http://vb.ly/250a

Any woman that uses a Scooby Doo quote in a written piece is not only beautiful, but down right sexy and intelligent!

This coming from Janice Hahn? The woman who hired Garry South to run her campaign? Yeah, the same Garry South who ran Gavin's campaign for Governor into the ground. And who--as DJTenesee reminded us--said "I've run a campaign for California lieutenant governor, and served as the lieutenant governor's chief of staff . . . I would have Newsom kidnapped by one-eyed aliens from Pluto if I ever thought he would make [the decision to run for Lt. Governor]" But apparently Garry is happy to take Hahn's money to try to get her the gig.

What about the video itself? Very amateurish, and I don't mean production values. Earns a "D".
If you spend the first half of the spot implying Gavin doesn't literally know what the office does, that's fine. South could've just used the quotes and looped the footage once or twice. But they had to go and get cute: they showed that him explaining the policy/politics distinction.
It might've worked with the general electorate, but these are Democratic primary voters. They're not stupid.
Although I do like the tack they're taking with "first woman" LG.

Shut up, Il Postino, and keep your grubby hands off my territory.
